Salma Hayke has never let her Dyslexia stand in her way. She was diagnosed as a teenager and didn't let it get in her way. Hayke told WebMD, "I’m really a fast learner. I always was, which is maybe why in high school they didn’t realize I had dyslexia. [It] doesn’t bother me now. Some people read really fast, but you’ll ask them questions about a script and they’ll forget. I take a long time to read a script, but I read it only once.”

Now, as a staring actress knows that it may take her longer to read her script but by reading it at her own pace, she understands it and only needs to read it once! Hayke also told Opera that learning a second language, English, was hard enough with out being Dyslexic, but she took on the challenge and succeeded!

It seems that Salma Hayke already knew what her strengths were before she was diagnosed. Knowing your strengths can be more helpful than you may thing. You can use your strengths, for instance knowing that you take long to read then others, to your advantage as Salma has done for many years and will continue to do.
